The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national level examination for admission to undergraduate courses in Architecture. The test measures a candidate's drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability in relation to Architecture.
All candidates must score a minimum of 25% in Paper I and Paper II respectively, along with at least 35% (70 marks out of 200) marks in aggregate in NATA to be eligible for admission to B. Studying architecture involves developing one’s aesthetic ability and visualization skills, for which drawing is an important skill and means of visual communication. Although students with drawing abilities have a distinct advantage, these skills are also taught to all students during initial years and with practice students are able to develop and improve them over a period of time. Computer softwares also help the relatively weaker students to improve their visual communication.
