The stadium has spent approximately Rs. 30 crores in refurbishing the venue, including changing the roof, building 16 emergency exit bridges, two additional dressing rooms and setting up four training grounds in the vicinity, two of which are within the campus. The seating, in this 55,000-seater stadium has been relaid in a manner that every spectator has a unique watching experience, for the tournament.
In addition to this the environmental impact of the stadium is minimised by installing a 500 KW solar plant to take care of over 70 percent of electrical requirements of the stadium.
