France & Belgium exploration by D Y Patil School of Hospitality & Toursim Students

The students of D YPatil University School of Hospitality and Tourism Studiesenjoyeda 10 day trip of France & Belgium covering most renowned places of art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. It served as a perfectcombo of knowledge and fun.

Paris is the birthplace of haute cuisine, the students had a first hand experience in traditional French cookingand the traditional flavors of the country.  They visited the Sorbonne Universityand had a demonstration as well as hands on experience with a chocolate workshop and a cooking workshop.

The students spent a day exploring the cheese manufacturing unit in Camembert, Normandy. Additionally, they toured a French bakery in Paris learning about the production of variousFrench breads, such as the classicbaguette, and authentic croissants.

Theyachieved a milestone by becoming the first Indian University to visit the world renowned Lanson House of Champagne in France. It is one the leading producers and manufacturers of Champagne, Lanson house is revered across the globe for supreme quality and fine taste of all of its produce. The students had the opportunity to learn about the entire process- from procuring to manufacturing and were truly expanded their knowledge base by a candid interaction with their managers and relished the champagne.

The group created lasting memories of the beautiful city by visiting other areas like Eiffel Tower, Disneyland Paris, Louvre Museum, Palace and Gardens of Versailles, etc.

This trip lead students to gain a new perspective and refine their skills whilst learning and exploring the wonderful city of Paris.
