DAY 04 – 12th March 2021 Wednesday

Session 1:

Lecture 1: History, Philosophy, and concepts of ASU- Introduction by Dr. Milind Patil Sir Time: 9.00 to 10.00 a.m.

The first session was conducted by Dr. Milind Patil Sir, Medical Advisor at Sandu Pharmaceuticals Ltd. In this presentation, the speaker highlighted the importance of the Basic Principles of Ayurveda which are time-tested and eternal. Sir also encouraged students for developing a research-oriented attitude towards our ancient science.


Lecture 2: Recent advances in ASU by Dr. Vedvati Bhapkar Madam Time: 10.00 to 11.00 a.m.

The resource person for the session was Dr. Vedvati Bhapkar Madam, Assistant Professor in Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana Dept., Dr. D.Y. Patil school of Ayurveda, Navi Mumbai. Madam, through her fascinating presentation, elaborated the recent advances in ASU system of medicine and also emphasized the importance of clinical research and documentation in good clinical practice.

Lecture 3: Know Regulatory bodies & Statutory bodies and major AYUSH institutions by Dr. Mahesh Kumar Harit Sir

Time: 11.00 am to 12.00 noon

This session was delivered by Dr. Mahesh Kumar Harit Sir, Dean, Professor & HOD in Ayurved Samhita Siddhant Dept., School of Ayurveda, D. Y. Patil deemed to be University, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

In this session, Sir gave a detailed introduction of all the Regulatory and Statutory bodies under Ministry of AYUSH. He also provided glimpses of major AYUSH institutions and encouraged students to aim these institutions for their higher studies.

Lecture 4: Language (Vadatu Sanskritam) – Formation of small sentences by Dr. Mrudula Deshpande Madam.

Time: 12.00 noon to 1.00 pm

The resource person for this session was Dr Mrudula Deshpande, an eminent personality in Sanskrit Language teaching and associated with Sanskrit Sambhashan Varga (Sanskrit Conversation) at SNDT College. Madam delivered a very interactive session with students and taught formation of small Sanskrit sentences in a very simplified manner.

Lunch Break

Time: 1.00pm to 2.00 p.m.

Lecture 5: Lecture on Community Health and Ayurveda by Dr. Kiran Pandit Sir Time: 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm

The resource person for this session was Dr. Kiran Pandit Sir – an eminent personality in the field of Ayurveda. Currently, Sir is designated as a member of MCIM and a NABH assessor. Dr Kiran presented an overview of how community medicine functions and also highlighted the importance of Ayurveda in the field of community medicine.

Lecture 6: Visit to Department related to SYBAMS Time: 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm

A visit was conducted to the Dept of Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana and the Dept of Dravyaguna Vigyaan. Basic details of various areas like RSBK Lab and Dravyaguna Lab were introduced to the students by Teachers of the concerned department.

The session was ended with a vote of thanks to all resource persons.
