Workshop on Colposcopy
Objective: Objective of the workshop was to train Ayurveda Gynecologists across State of Maharashtra in colposcopy and to achieve a common goal of Cancer free society.

A state level workshop was arranged by Prasutitantra-strirog department, D.Y.Patil School of Ayurveda on Sunday, 20th march 2016 in collaboration with National Integrated Medical Association(NIMA-Thane),Thane branch.
Dr.KalpanaAapte(Sr. Asst. Secretary Gen. FPAI, Mumbai)& Dr. Mahesh Kumar Harit, Dean,D.Y.Patil School of Ayurveda,Navi Mumbaiwereinaugurate the program. Dr. Amar Prakash Dwivedi, Vice Principal, Dr.PoonamPowar, President,NIMA-Thane, among Speakers Dr.Priya Ganesh Kumar, Colposcopist&Gynaecologists,Thane) &Dr.Dinesh Gupta (Laboratory Director at curehealth diagnostics – a reference lab for women’s lower genital infections and diseases screening and diagnostics, Delhi,Dr.VishnuC.Bawane (Organising Secretary &Member MCIM), Dr.Sameer Gholap (Co-ordinator,NIMA- Thane) were present.
One committee is formed under the chairmanship of Dr.KalpanaAapte and other efficient and proactive Ayurveda Gynaecologists to regularly conduct such type of hands on training workshop to train the Ayurveda Gynaecologists in various family Planning techniques. Dr. Mahesh Kumar Harit, Dean proposed our institute as training centre to the committee.
All the present HOD’S from different Ayurveda Colleges were felicitated by Dr. Mahesh Kumar Harit&Dr.KalpanaAapte.
Around 104 delegates (Ayurveda Gynaecologists&streerog PG Students)were present for the workshop across Maharashtra including 13 delegates from State of Karnataka.
Dr.Priya Ganesh Kumar, Dr.Dinesh Gupta &Dr.VishalaTurlapatti delivered their lectures on Cervical Cancer & Need for colposcopy, HPV Cytology, Colposcopy Evaluation of cervical Lesions & Scope of Ayurvedic Management respectively in first half of program.
In second half live demonstration of Colposcopy procedure over 12 patients were given by Dr.Priya Ganesh Kumar. Live question answering were done from colposcopy room to virtual classroom.
Through Colposcopy workshop we tried to provide practical skills to Practicing Gynecologists & post graduate students in dealing with their patients.
Role of AYUSH doctor in Preventive oncology is pivotal to achieve a goal of cancer free society so in that perspective this workshop was a stepping stone for Ayurveda Gynecologists.
At the end of the session attendance Certificate is provided to all the participants. Overall feedback of the workshop by delegates was 9/10.
