Emerging Trends in Environmental Biotechnology

A Lecture workshop on “Emerging trends of Environmental Biotechnology” was organized on 29th & 30th January 2016 at School of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, D.Y.Patil University Navi Mumbai.in association with The Indian Academy of Science (IAS), Bangalore; Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi and The National Academy of Sciences (NASI), Allahabad.
The primary objective of this lecture workshop was to enlighten participants with current research trends in Environmental Biotechnology and to make the younger generation aware of environmental sustainability and its challenges.
Eminent scientists and environmental experts shared their thoughts and ideas with the young participants enlightening them about environment sustainability being the need of the hour.

In total, 110 participants from eleven colleges benefitted from the workshop. Outhouse candidates included students and staff from Gogte Joglekar college, Ratnagiri, ASC college, Lanja, KESAP’s Science college ,Nagothane, Momins college, Bhiwandi, Pendharkar College, Dombiwali, Thadomal Shani college, Bandra, K.B. Patil College, Vashi and Sterling College, Nerul.
Dr. Tarala Nandedkar, Visiting Scientist, Haffkine Institute for Training, Research and Testing, Parel Mumbai worked as Convener & Dr. Manish R. Bhat, Assistant Professor, School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, D.Y.Patil University, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai worked as Coordinator for the Lecture workshop.
