First orientation/ Hands-on Training program on Virtual labs usage and Development organized on 20th June 2019
First Orientation / Hands-on Training Programme on Virtual Labs Usage and Development was organized by the Regional Center – Virtual Labs, Bioinformatics Lab 2, School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, D Y Patil Deemed to Be University, Navi Mumbai, Plot 50, Sector 15, CBD Belapur 400614 on 20th June 2019 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The session was attended by Nodal Coordinators, Faculty and Students from various colleges of Maharashtra. The total numbers of participants were 30.
The session started with the Director addressing the participants/ Nodal Coordinators. This was followed by a talk by Mr Pushpdeep Mishra- Project Manager, Virtual Labs, IITB, Mumbai, on the objectives of establishing the Nodal Centers and usage of Virtual Labs. He highlighted how the virtual labs can significantly contribute to the understanding of the subject for students and the mission of the Government of India on Education through ICT project.
The participants were oriented with a hands-on session on the usage of Virtual labs by Ms Shreedevi Kulkarni- Regional Technical Coordinator and Ms Divya Subramanian. Ms Nidhi Sharma and Dr Sourav Ghosh assisted the participants in performing the vlabs experiments. Ms Urmi Shah and Mr Manoj Chauhan students of B.Tech Bioinformatics and B.Tech Biomedical Engineering respectively volunteered in the entire session.
This was followed by a session on the roles and responsibilities of the Nodal Centre by Dr Naveen P, Regional Coordinator of VLabs- Navi Mumbai and highlighted on the steps involved in the development of virtual lab experiments
