Species 2019

‘Species’ is the annual cultural fest of the School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. The fest provides a prerequisite for all students and faculty to interact, enjoy and gain a wholesome, fun-filled experience in being a part of the DYPSBB community. The festival has a wide range of events that suit to the likes of everyone. Species throughout the years has been a bridge that unites the ever diversified population of DYPSBB to common goal- “Celebrating togetherness amidst all differences”. The fest is stretched across three days of happiness, joy, zest and enthusiasm. It is a celebration and is filled with events and competitions that bring out the best in people.

IMG_2436 - CopyThe theme for this year was “One-Oath-Save”, an initiative to acknowledge and raise awareness towards the nature and the issues their-in. The theme highlights the importance of sustainability and giving back to the nature.The festival started with Annual Day Celebration on 23rd January, 2019, inaugurated by honored Chief Guest Dr. Nitant Mate, Technical Director of See Green Products working in the field of sustainability in areas of Energy, Waste and Water Management. The event moved forward with the dignitaries asked to felicitate the academic achievers, who have been always awarded and acknowledged in DYPSBB for their hard-work and talent.

DSC_0175 DSC_0199The event showcased brilliant performances by our own dance, music and drama clubs. The auditorium was filled with a cheer and enthusiasm. The post lunch events included intercollegiate competitions for Solo Dance, Drama and Group Dance competitions. The crowd cheered loudly for all the artists who had performed on stage and they left the auditorium looking forward to next two day of Species 2019.

IMG_0113IMG_0056The third day – 25thJanuary, 2019 began with energizing Zumba session wherein students as well as faculty enjoyed it to the fullest. An array of fun filled events continued through out the day right from solo singing competition, mono acting, open mic, D. Y. Studio to concert and a DJ eve. Parallel events included trade your cuisine, understanding companion, dare to do it, treasure hunt, haunted house, life size ludo, minute to win games, debate competition and some more. The day concluded with the vote of thanks from the GS bringing the fest to a jovial conclusion.
