EDUCATION & TRAINING
The DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Dentistry is one of the oldest dental schools in the state of Maharashtra, educating many of our nation’s dentists annually. The School of Dentistry has nearly 550 students in its various undergraduate and postgraduate programs from all over the country. Nearly 70 percent of all currently enrolled students are women. The School of Dentistry offers specialty training in the following dental specialty areas: endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral medicine, and oral and maxillofacial pathology.
In addition to educating health professionals, the Dental school endeavors through its faculty, students, and alumni to improve the health of the highly diverse populations in Navi Mumbai city. The College conducts a mobile dental care program, which travels to dentally-underserved areas throughout the city to provide critically needed dental services; sponsors free oral health and oral cancer screenings for thousands of residents annually and has established a global outreach model that delivers essential care to populations in need. The Dental school has also established a global network to foster research collaborations and program initiatives.
RESEARCH & INNOVATION
An important part of DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Dentistry research strategy is translational research. We firmly believe that in today’s world, groups of researchers must work together synergistically in order to move fundamental basic science research into practice. This collaborative, integrated approach drives the majority of the research conducted today at the School of Dentistry.
The College’s distinguished dental faculty includes full- time clinicians and researchers, including many who have made pioneering contributions in the areas of cleft lip and palate surgeries, caries research, cancer, especially oral cancer, implant dentistry, the use of fluoride and dental sealants to prevent caries, bonding techniques to restore the appearance of damaged teeth, the correction of facial deformities, and orthodontic services for adults.

Dr.DY Patil Dental College & Hospital Founded in 1990, the DY Patil Dental College & Hospital was originally affiliated to the University of Mumbai and then to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nasik (MUHS), but now is a constituent college of the Dr. DY Patil University which is a Deemed to be University.
Currently, the college provides facilities for BDS and Post-Graduate studies.
Established in 1990 (Mumbai University) and then affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.
Since 2002 it is a constituent institute of DY Patil University and now the nomenclature is changed to DY Patil University, School of Dentistry.

In 2009, the university was assessed and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council at the level of ‘A’ grade with CGPA 3.40 National Assessment and Accreditation Council in their second cycle of assessment and accreditation in 2014, re-accredited the university with ‘A’ Grade with CGPA 3.40 out of 4.
This Dental Hospital which is a truly charitable hospital at Nerul, Navi Mumbai is the dream of our Founder President Padmashree Dr. DY Patil, who desires to make the best in health care available within the means of the economically deprived. The hospital provides primary to tertiary level health care facilities to the patients at the most affordable cost. The dental hospital has 425 Dental chairs. The average daily OPD count is more than 1000.
