A blood donation drive was held on the 8th of February, 2017 in the D.Y. Patil School of Dentistry. The drive was held for a duration of 4 hours between 9 am and 1 pm. The entire event was organised entirely by the Department of Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgery. The Dean, the Vice Dean, the Dean of faculty, as well as Dr. Suchetan Pradhan graced the drive with their presence. There was an outstanding response by both the staff members and students, towards this camp. A total of 84 members from the staff and postgraduate students registered for the camp.
The entire camp was very well organized. Each student and staff member was thoroughly screened for Hemoglobin levels. Their height and weight was also ascertained to make sure that there were no untoward incidents. Everyone was asked to fill out a form as a pre-requisite to the blood donation.
Donating blood is a noble task, that sadly not many people do. It can save a persons’ life. It was heart-warming, to see the response from the members of the college.
