Dental Check-up and Awareness Camp for Children with Autism by Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry

“EVERY CHILD’S SMILE IS PRICELESS” with this aim in mind, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, provides primary and comprehensive, preventive and therapeutic oral health care for children.


Dr. D.Y. Patil, deemed to be university, school of dentistry has always made a purposeful motive to accomplish the above aim and has conducted dental camps comprising of oral check up of children with complete education of both, the child and the patient.


5-12 year old children with Autism were examined for dental caries and their parents were asked for the medical history, dietary habits and brushing history and oral habits. They were asked to record the diet of their child for 24 hours. They were also educated as to how to avoid dental caries and maintain oral hygiene.
