Dentovision is the scientific event of the school of dentistry. The event started off with a grand inauguration ceremony in which each staff member from every department in D.Y. Patil School of Dentistry were felicitated with a token of gratitude for their valuable contribution. They were felicitated through our Honorable Dean; Dr. Omkar Shetty, Vice Dean; Dr. Avinash Tamgadge and our guest speaker for the day Dr. Rajeev Verma. Dr. Rajeev Verma gave a lecture on ‘Simplest techniques of tooth preparation for crown and bridge’ which proved to be very informative and a unique learning experience for everyone. Paper and poster presentations were held along with two new additional competitions; live poster and dental photography which received an overwhelming response.
Day 2 Of Dentovision started off with a panel discussion on Medicolegal aspects in dentistry by our guest speaker Dr.Vishwas Puranik, Dr.Hemant Dhusia, Our Honourable Dean; Dr.Omkar Shetty and Head Of Department Of Orthodontics; Dr.Vivek Soni which was really informative and gave light to key issues in the legal aspects in dentistry.
Paper and poster presentations were held along with two additional competitions; Table-Clinics and Dental Pictionary Challenge.
Day 3 Of Dentovision had the guest speaker for the day Dr.Hemant Umarji, the man who needs no introduction for his contribution to Oral Medicine & Radiology he gave a lecture on Differential Diagnosis of oral mucous lesions which made diagnosis of lesions look easier and cleared all doubts pertaining to it. This was followed by a lecture by 2 speakers for the day Dr.Sonali Luthra Gandi & Dr.Sanah Sayeed who have excelled in the field of aesthetic dentistry, they gave a lecture on Composite Veeners Vs Ceramic Veeners. Last but not the least We had a short lecture by Dr.Unmesh; Faculty in the Department Of Endodontics
who gave us an insight of his company – “CRICDENTAL” which deals with microscopes and Loupes.
Paper and poster presentations were held along with a Debate Challenge.
Dentovision was very informative and was well received by the faculty and students.
