What better way to honour and immortalize the teachings of a man who dedicated his entire life towards service to the underprivileged, than to celebrate his birthday by giving back to the society. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, on 2nd October,2018, the department of Public Health dentistry D.Y.Patil University, School of Dentistry arranged for an Oral Screening and Awareness Camp in Charai, Thane.
The camp was held in partnership with Lions Club and was conducted at the St. John Baptist High School in Thane. A sum total of 102 participants of all ages were screened for various oral health conditions and disturbances. They were also guided about various treatment options available and all their queries were put to rest. The participants were then given demonstrations on measures to ensure proper oral health and hygiene.
The camp was conducted by Dr Sneha Khanapure (Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry) and her team of four interns (Kaajal Gupta, GurpreetKaur, Harshita Sharma, AishwaryaJage) and was a grand success.
Another fruitful day for the Department of Public Health Dentistry as they go about their jobs, creating better smiles!
