As dentists live by the adage- ‘Prevention is better than cure’, on the 2nd of September 2018, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, D. Y. Patil University School of Dentistry, organized an Oral Screening and Awareness Camp in conjunction with The Rotary Club Ghatkopar.
The camp was held at Shree Virji Lodhabhai KDO Jain Vidyarthigriha Ghatkopar (West) and a total of 185 subjects of all ages were effectively screened for oral health issues and dental caries. In addition to the screening, the participants were given a demonstration of oral hygiene diktats and the importance of brushing and flossing were related to them.
This initiative was brought to fruition by Dr. Sneha Khanapure (Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry) and her able team of 5 interns (Sofia Khan, Alreem Khan, Juhi Singh, Charmi Shah, Surbhi Joshi).
Another job well done for the department of Public Health Dentistry as they spread oral health awareness amongst the masses!
