Dental camps provide a platform to grow awareness and encourage people to take charge of their oral health. Organising such camps will amplify efforts to ensure that the voice of oral health community is heard.
For such an assurance, the department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dentistry, DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai organised a number of oral health and screening camps. These were organised in the month of August on the dates 25th, 26th and 27th. The camp onthe 25thof August was held at VLVG Boys hostel, Ghatkopar (West) , the one on 26thAugust was heldat Kendra Vidyalaya, Mankhurd and the one on 27thof Augustwas held at District Civil hospital, Palghar. Another camp, a few days later was organised in the month of September and was held at Utsav Mitra Mandal, Nerul on the 7th of September, 2019.
These camps were successfully organised under the guidance of the Head of Department Dr. Sheiba Gomes and the assistant professors Dr. Sneha Khanapure and Dr. Siddharth Acharya. These camps have been proven to enlighten people about their oral health care needs and thereby maintain oraland overall health. With the help of these camps it becomes easier for the people and the dentists to be in an environment open and understandable to achieve the required goals of oral health care in our country.
