An educational tour was organized by the SHTS to attend and explore Sarangkheda festival .the 3 day tour started on 15th dec 2016. The tour was supported by MTDC, Govt of Maharashtra.
Around 50 students participated in the tour to explore and experience this unique festival.
Chetak festival is organized each year to promote and exhibit best quality breeds of horses from Maharashtra and other neighboring states. It also showcases rich tribal culture and heritage of Nandurbar dist of northern Maharashtra.
Sarangkheda village is located between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh border; due to its unique location it attracts lots of tourists from these neighboring states.
The accommodation was very unique there as MTDC had set up good quality tents and all the amenities of a hotel room.
Chetak festival was a unique blend of culture, tradition and food for all to enjoy.
Students tried out lots of local delicacies and explore the simplicity of a village life.
While returning from the fest students also visited local vineyard and got a tour about wine manufacturing process and methods.
Overall it was a very good experience for the students who wanted to explore the traditions and cuisine from remote parts of Maharashtra.
