1. Basic Training Kitchen

Basic Training Kitchen is the department where the students of first year learn basic cooking of vegetables and meats in continental style and sharpen their skills to become best industrial professionals in the coming years.

2. Quantity Training Kitchen

QTK best known as Quantity Training Kitchen, students here are exposed to the vast India Culinary by making them learn cooking of different authentic flavors within states of India, and also bulk quality cooking is taught to them.

3. Advanced Training Kitchen

Advanced Training Kitchen here the students are taken to higher levels of Continental food production and are introduced to different cuisines around the world.

4. Bakery

Bakery is the department which every craves a lot about. Here the students are taught different cakes, breads, cookies, biscuits and pastries. They are trained in such a way that they are made well versed with the baking temperature and time.

5. F&B Service

F&B Service department which is in liaison with the guest, our faculty enlightens the students with the basic attributes of service and in depth knowledge of beverages. In second year wine and its types are given a lot of emphasis. They are taught how to make cocktails and mocktails apart from which they are also taught flaring and pairing of food and wine.

6. Housekeeping

Housekeeping focused on the moive of asthetic upkeep of the premises our professors teach students the basic value of cleanliness of rooms, setting of beds, flower arrangements in the rooms and lobby and make the guests feel comfortable.

7. Front office Laboratory

Front office is the face of the hospitality industry which comes first in contact with the guests. Here the students are taught right from the reservation, registration and check out.

8. COMPUTER LAB

Students of the DHTS have easy access to computing facilities and the internet. The computer laboratory has about 30 highly advanced machines from IBM and Sun Microsystems. Students use these facilities extensively for their project work. The latest software used in the hospitality industry, like Opera are taught to students.

9. COMMUNICATION LAB

In today’s scenario communication plays a vital role and keeping this as the prime need of the hour we make sure that our students are provided with the best of guidance both theoretically as well as practically. A communication lab has been specially designed for the same and a competent ENGLISH COMMUNICATION faculty makes sure that regular practical sessions are carried out. Group discussions, extempore speaking, JAM sessions; debates are a common part of the practical sessions carried out here. We also offer training in FRENCH & GERMAN LANGUAGES and video sessions are specially designed for the student’s practical training.

10. LIBRARY

The institute library lends technical books and journals both for reference and home reading. The students are encouraged to spend time in the library which has long and convenient hours. The library contains several volumes of under-graduate text-books and reference books. The institute subscribes to both Indian and Foreign Journals. The Library endeavours to present an open door to all those who wish to make the most of their time at the institute and beyond.

11. GUEST HOUSE FOR REAL LIFE TRAINING

The institute has a spacious 12 room air conditioned guesthouse attached to it. The offers hands on training to the students in hotel management and operations.

12. SPORTS

The university has a well planned world class stadium. Coaching is offered to all students who wish to take advantage of the facility. True to the idiom that a sound mind resides in a healthy body , our students maintain their fitness by indulging in sports activities like volley ball, Kho kho, badminton, Kabaddi etc .Indoor sports facilities like, TT, carom and chess keep our students entertained after a tough lecture or a practical session. Dr. D.Y.patil sports academy boosts for a multipurpose sports facility for cricket tennis , squash and other sports.

13. CULTURAL ROOM

Apart from regular academic, the Institute encourages and promotes a lot of extracurricular and cultural activities in order to help students develop themselves into well rounded personalities. This is important because as mentioned earlier the art goes with science in this field. Keeping this in mind the institute consciously takes interest in promoting such activities. Our students participate in various youth festivals, organized by other colleges like Space, Enigma, Malhar, Horizons, etc. We also have an intra college festival called “Aroma” where the students can stage their talents in all cultural and technical aspects. Similarly we have inter college festival called “Rhapsody”, where the students are able to compete with a broader talent base. These festivals are organized by the students of the Institute. Every year, the third students organize a ‘Theme Dinner’ with a focus on international cuisine. The second years organise a “theme lunch” which highlight the regional cuisine of our country. Accordingly menu planning, preparation, service, drinks to be served, decor, marketing, financial controlling and publicity is planned and executed by different groups of students. These theme lunches and dinners are evaluated by experts from the industry.

14. HOSTEL

The campus has hostel facility for both boys and girls. Ac and non AC rooms of international standards and offering comfortable environment conducive to learning are available on first cum first served basis. Each room has been provided with an attached bathroom with necessary furniture and fixtures (a table, chair, cupboard per student). The hostel has canteen facility, 24hour water supply and continuous electricity back up for the hostel is there. A well designed common room, well placed water coolers are needless to say. Support staff is provided for the students at the hostel.
