SHTS conducts a case study on ‘Lack of Training ‘ in the industry !
DY Patil University School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies conducted case study on Lack of Training (which can cause serious hazards in hotel) for the second year students of B.Sc. Hospitality Studies on 26th February 2019 in Virtual Classroom of the university. The case study was conducted by Ms Supriya Jadhav, Assistant Professor on behalf of college. The students were given the case study handouts a day prior to the session and were asked to come up with suitable and effective solution for the given scenario.
The case study was about cutting cost of unnecessary expenses where possible in their respective departments. A new employee who wanted to outshine in the department, due to lack of training, the employee in the process of cost cutting, he uses the combination of two chemicals. due to oxidization he gets unconscious and then gets rushed to hospital.
The students actively participated in the case study. They identified the main issue was failure of lack of training on chemical handling. One of the student remarked that the case study was interesting and that he would like to attend more of such sessions.
