SHTS @ FOUR SEASONS HOTEL, MUMBAI

Industrial visits are significant for students undergoing professional education such as Hospitality, Business Management, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Architecture and many more. Most of the  institutes providing these courses do not have  enough infrastructure to show case all the real working equipment, machinery, operational methodology and everything else, that students will come across once they enter into professional field.With a view to familiarize students with the hospitality operations Asst. Professor Mr. Milind Kilpadi visited the five star luxury hotel Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai on the 3rd November 2018 with a batch of 28 second year hospitality students of D Y Patil School Of Hospitality and Tourism Studies.The tour of the hotel began with a small introduction by Mr. Suraj Sachdev, Assistant Manager Training and Development about the history behind the hotel, its owners and its glorious 10 years in India. The students were then taken to the laundry where the hotel washes its uniforms and the guest laundry.

The entire processes along with various commercial machines were explained in detail by Mr. Ashish Ambade, Assistant Manager Laundry. The laundry tour also included a visit to their basement laundry operations which is meant for washing and drying heavy duty loads of linen like bed sheets, towels, pillow covers etc. the students also tried their hand at the towel folding machine.The students also saw the presidential suite of the hotel which is one of the most luxuries and immensely expensive suites of the town. The students were then escorted to the roof top bar AER which is among st the most happening place in Mumbai followed by the tour to the prestigious restaurant San-qi which serves exotic Thai, Cantonese, Chinese and Teppanyaki cuisine.

The visit ended with the tour to their banqueting areas and the kitchen areas. With an opportunity to experience the operations and activities carried out in these departments which serve as a backbone of the entire operations of the hotel, the students were exposed to a wider dimensions and scope of carrier opportunities as far as Hospitality Management is concerned.The students were highly motivated when they left the hotel premises and glimpses of a clear picture of what they are determined to achieve in life appeared in their minds.
