D Y Patil University School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies organised a workshop on a very important department in the hospitality sector which is Marketing Department. The session was conducted by Mr Pranav Soman a Senior Professor from Somaiya college of Management, Mumbai on 6 February 2019 at the virtual class room. . The reason to organise this workshop was to make students understand that apart from the core departments in hospitality they can even flourish their careers in the departments like marketing where you have a high growth rate.This session for the students was organised by Asst. Prof Ajinkya Pandirkar (F&B department).
Marketing Analytics is a set of tools and techniques that can be used to improve performance through fact-based decision-making. Data Exploration, Business Intelligence and Data Mining have been there for a while and helped Businesses to create Data Discipline in the organization. Business Analytics is the subset of Business Intelligence, which helps companies to understand the past and predict the future to improve company’s effectiveness in the market place. Mr. Pranav explained Marketing analytics to the students in a startling and interesting manner. The audience found the session innovative and knowledgeable.
