SHTS organizes training sessions for students in collaboration with Tata STRIVE
D Y Patil University stands with a vision to provide quality education in all spheres of high learning in India. We at D Y Patil School of Hospitality and Tourism studies too aim at providing and imparting hands on experience as well as training in both practical and theoretical aspects of hotel, catering and institutional management. In one such developments, D Y Patil School of hospitality and Tourism studies collaborated with Tata STRIVE, a TATA initiative aiming to train youths for employment, entrepreneurship and community enterprises. The core philosophy of this organisation is to create courses which can help in creating and supplying trained manpower across the entire industrial spectrum as well as develop entrepreneurial talent. Thus, following a common core value Tata Strive in collaboration with Starbucks is committed to provide valuable skills to youth of India by skills training. The quality of the program has been set high so as to ensure that Tata Strive is recognised for its quality skills in the education sector. They take into consideration the demand and needs of the students to ensure that students benefit from their training to opt for a choice in the varied job opportunities offered.
Currently, a batch of 15 third year students are enrolled for the Tata STRIVE- Starbucks executive training in Quick service Restaurant (QSR). This course spans for total 120 hours wherein students learn various techniques and arts like Techniques of making pour over coffee, coffee brewing methods, French press coffee and latte art. This course is a combination course involving both practical and theory sessions. The focal points of this course includes
