D Y Patil University School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies organized a three day (October 11-13, 2018) workshop on “Research Methodology”. Eminent research scholars from prestigious institutes were the speakers for all the sessions. Dr.ChandrahaunsChavan was the keynote speaker. He is Professor & Director of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai followed by Dr. Chandrashekhar S. Gawaliwho is the Head of the Department of Human Development at S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Juhu Campus.
The topic discussed by Dr.Chavan was on why research is important and how to write a good research paper whereas Dr.Gawali shared a deep insight on case study and its techniques. Second day both the sessions were chaired by Dr.Rajesh Srivastava, Prof and HOD –Marketing, Govt of Maharashtra‘s Sydenham Institute of Management Studies research and entrepreneurship education. Dr.Srivastava discussed on how to measure the sample along with developing a theoretical framework & hypothesis.The concluding day session was chaired by Dr.DevaDube&Dr.CharutaGajbhiye.Dr.Deva D Dubey, MRICS brings varied experience in finance relating to various types of projects, including real estate and infrastructure projects, both in India and in the Middle East. He is currently Associate Professor at Amity University, Mumbai Campus.
Dr.CharutaGajbhiye is a recipient of Hon D.Litt Award & is current HOD, Research Centre, Post Graduation& Graduation LAD College, Nagpur. Dr.Dube discussed on PLS-SEM whereas Dr.Gajbhiye shared a deep insight on literature reviewing.The 3 Day National workshop ended with valedictory session. Participants were mainly PG students and faculty members from Hotel management and Business management colleges from Mumbai and outside Mumbai as well. There were loads of knowledge to carry for the participants along with them at the end of the 3 days. Participants were extremely satisfied with this workshop as they got a wonderful opportunity to attend the sessions of all the senior and experienced speakers at one stop, that is, at D Y Patil University School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies. They also shared their thoughts saying that they would like to come back again in future for such sessions and also appreciated the hospitality shown by the students and faculties of the department.
