ALVIDA – MBA STUDENTS FAREWELL PROGRAM (BATCH 2014-2016)
The final year of the MBA students (Batch 2014-2016) came to an end on 12th May 2016, Thursday. It was the last day of their exams, as well as on the DYPUSM campus. Therefore, a Farewell Program was organized by the Cultural Committee, under the name Alvida to wish good luck and success to the final year students.
The event started at 6:00 p.m. The DYPUSM Director, Dr. R. Gopal inaugurated the show by lighting the lamp, followed by the Sarasvati Vandana and the National Anthem – a ritual we follow at the DYPUSM. The BBA first year students welcomed their seniors with an opening dance act. The host of the evening, Danny from MBA Sem 2, then started with the main event of the evening, the awards ceremony. A total of 14 awards were given out, on the basis of votes received from the Teaching Faculty Members. The award categories were:
Most Dedicated Student – Core & Sectoral
Best Personality – Core & Sectoral
Most Notorious Student – Core & Sectoral
Most Popular Student – Core & Sectoral
Rising Star – Core & Sectoral
Student of the Year Male – Core & Sectoral
Student of the Year Female – Core & Sectoral
The most prestigious awards for the evening, Student of the Year, were won by the most deserving students.
Student of the Year Male Core – Mr. Omkar Gharat
Student of the Year Female Core – Ms. Nishmita Shetty
Student of the Year Male Sectoral – Mr. Clinton George
Student of the Year Female Sectoral – Dr. Priya Mohite
Juniors from MBA performed by singing Farewell songs, which set an emotional environment for all students. The awards ceremony was followed by a dance session for all students, and a full course dinner.
Dr. R. Gopal said, “This batch of MBA students was by far the most notorious batch of students, I have ever come across. And that is one of the reasons why I am going to miss this batch the most”
The event ended on a Selfie note, with all students clicking memories with their favorite teachers.
