BBA Orientation Program
BBA students eagerly wanting to come back to DYPUSM. BBA orientation program for the 2nd Year and the 3rd Year held on 18/07/2018. The orientation program for Second and third year BBA was held on Wednesday, 18th July 2018. More than 500 students attended this all-important orientation program as this marked the first day of school after the summer break. This was one of the largest undergraduate orientation program conducted by the DY Patil University School of Management.
Prof. Dr. R Gopal, Director, Head of Department and former Dean of the DY Patil University, School of Management welcomed the students. He enquired with the students about the training program that they had in the summer break. He also informed them about the Learning Management Systems (LMS), the upcoming industrial visit. He said that this year’s international visit could be to the USA or UK or to Europe. Dr. Gopal also informed about the various activities outside of academics especially in the area of Sports, Cultural, etc. He said that there would be a lot of emphasis in the 2nd and 3rd year in group working, especially in the areas of group projects, group presentations, etc. Live Projects were the backbone of the student’s learning. Additionally, around 40 guest lectures have been arranged. These lectures will be conducted by industry personnel who will share their knowledge and industrial experience with the students. Dr. Gopal also said that discipline is the key to success in life and that there is a need to follow the rules and regulations of the university.
Dr. Ms. Sarika Punekar, in charge of the BBA examinations at the school gave an outline of the examination systems and the need to completely clear all the subjects.
Dr. Ms. Vani Kamath, Dean of Faculties, mentioned about the various Certification Programs that the school of Management is introducing this year and exhorted the students to take part in these certification programs. Some of them are for e.g. Personality Development, Business Analytics, Intellectual Property Rights, and Brand Management, etc.
Mr. Arora Shetty, A student of the 2nd year student said that “We are very much satisfied with the inputs given by the faculties and the encouraging and smiling atmosphere of the school administration.
Ms. Harsh Raj, student of the 3rd year said “When I first set foot on the School of Management campus in BBA first year, I was wondering whether this management school will also be like our primary and secondary schools. I was wondering whether I would be challenged in my thought process and finally whether there would be fun also. But at the end of two years I can say that the DYPUSM has far exceeded my beliefs. The school gave me a feeling of belonging, a feeling that it has helped me change”.
Dr. Ms. Gagandeep Nagra informed the students about the various elective and generic subjects and their timetable. She also emphasized attendance regularity and maintaining discipline on the campus and in the class and also talked about Effective Communication.
Dr. Ms. Rashmi Gopinathan Nair and Dr. Ms. Roshni Sawant spoke in detail about the upcoming Sports and Cultural events.
Dr. Sunil Surte, Administrative Head gave the vote of thanks.
