Kerala Flood Donation Drive – August 2018

Kerala was reeling from one of its worst flooding disaster in decades. Shutters of 33 Dams (of 39) were opened, 41 rivers (of 44) and backwaters overflowed, tremendous landslides, hundreds of houses and establishments were submerged. Displaced thousands of people and disrupted life to an extent never before. A lot of people struggled for rescue.

Rotaract club of DY Patil School of Management organized KERALA DONATION DRIVE for helping the victims of Kerala floods from the 16th to the 18th August 2018. The club put up a donation desk in the institute for 2 days.

They collected an amount of Rs.10,172. The amount was then submitted to the parent rotary club which was sent to Kerala eventually. Also, the club collected food items, clothes, sanitary pads and other essential goods. These goods were taken forward with the help of a biker group- ‘RIDE FOR A CAUSE’ and were supplied to Kerala.

This was our first project of this CHARTER club and it was a great success.
