The DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Management (DYPUSM) celebrated the 10th Reunion 2016 Day of its Alumni in a glittering function at its CBD Belapur campus on 3rd December 2016.

More than 350 alumni from the batches of 2005 onwards visited the school in a spirit of solidarity, commaderie and oneness with the university and school. Notable amongst them was Mr. ShrenikKotecha, Mr. Prashant Sowmitry, Mr. Motish Singh and many others.

Dr. Shirish Patil, Vice Chancellor was the Chief Guest of the function. Additionally Mr. Khadilkar, Ex. Chief Engineer, CIDCO and NMMC and notable social worker in Belapur was the Guest Honor.

Formally the Alumni Association for DYPUSM was launched with ShrenikKotecha Director, MT Educare, Prashant Sowmitry, Vice President, Fortress Capital, Ms. SoniyaLudhani, Head HR, Flipkart, NitinrajPaikar, Media Controller, Madison Entertainment, Praveen Pandey Country Head India, ASE PLC., and Mehul Joshi, HR Manager Trent Hyper Market Ltd.

The highlight of the program was the cultural and games show which was organized by the alumni. Mr. Keni Gomes Nathan (batch 2005/7) also sang a couple of songs in honor of the event.

Dr. Shirish Patil, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor who was the brain behind the launch of the MBA in Health and Hospital Management revisited the launch days and the challenges that one faced when the program was launched. He said “DYPUSM has grown from a state of non-existence in 2006 to being well accepted amongst the Institutions of Higher Learning. He said it was a nostalgic evening for him also to see so many of his students and said all this was possible only because of the help and support rendered by the alumni.

Mr. Khadilkar, noted social work while describing the challenges faced by him while building the Morbad Dam said “Team Work was one of the essential aspects which will lead to working together.” He said in building the Morbad Dam, it was necessary to carry everybody together otherwise such a huge dam could not have been built.

Prof. Dr. Gopal, Director recalled the days when the management school started its operations without any formal classrooms. Today he said with the support and guidance of the alumni DYPUSM has been able to establish a separate identity of itself in the clutter of management schools in India. He said “The alumni of DYPUSM has been primarily responsible for the growth of the school. They have contributed in terms of the learning process, the placement process and the admission process. The next step is to contribute in terms of research projects and in creation of chairs and endowments in the school”

Dr.RashmiGopinathan formally inaugurated the Alumni Association of the School of Management and exhorted the first association members to fulfill the goals of the school.

The reunion meet ended with a vote of thanks and sweet memories of the various alumni who promised to meet again in the next few months.
