Session on Business Valuation and Analysis
The session on Business Valuation and Analysis was conducted on Saturday, August 20, 2016 by Mr.Rohit Parekh. He is the Vice President of Jefferries LLC in Investment Banking Division, Mumbai. He is an IIM Ahmedabad Graduate and has worked with JM Financial, Kotak Investment Banking and JM Morgan Stanley.Rohit Sir has special interest in M&A (Sell Side, Buy Side transactions and Open Offers), Capital Market (IPO, QIP). Financial Modeling and Valuation, Indian Securities Regulation.
This lecture was specially conducted for Finance and Banking &Insurance students.He has enlightened us students on various aspects of Business Valuation and Analysis. About 47 students attended this session.
The session involved practical examples of corporate world in terms of finance. This session was conducted from the scratch including, what is valuation, how does it deal with practical business and how equity value and net debt helps as a base for valuation. A broad explanation on DCF was given by Rohit Sir, which involved FCFF (Free Cash Flow to Firm) and FCFE (Free Cash Flow to Equity). Clear calculations of FCFF and FCFE and how it helps an investment banker in helping his clients and giving financial advice in improvising his business. The best part of the session was, being an IIM graduate, he was expertin his subject matter having an experience of more than 10 years in the field of Investment Markets, and hence we found this session was very knowledgeable.
