Welcoming back the BBA Semester 3 Students
On the morning of 21st July 2016, Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. the students of BBA Batch 2015-2018, Semester 3, were welcomed back to DYPUSM for the new semester.
The day started by welcoming the Chief Guests for the occasion, Dr. Shirish Patil& Dr. Atul Deshmukh. Dr. Shirish Patil has more than twenty five years of teaching, administrative and research experience to his credit. He specializes in Preventive & Social Medicine (Community Medicine) and his key area of interest is ‘Health and Hospital Administration’. Before accepting the responsibility of Incharge Vice Chancellor he has served the University as the Dean School of Medicine. Dr. Atul Deshmukh is a clinical scientist. His area of research is cancer biology caner proteomics and immunohistochemistry. He has worked with renowned Indian institutes like IIT-Bombay, Tata cancer hospital, ACTREC, HomiBhaba national center etc. He has contributed to a very prominent research project at IIT-Bombay which was based on Nano-particle drug delivery system for treatment of colon cancer. He has characterized oral cancer tissue at IIT-Bombay.
Our honorable Director, Dr. R. Gopal felicitated both guests and spoke to the students about how they are expected to maintain discipline. He also stressed upon DYPUSM being a Ragging Free College, and said that any incident in that area will not be tolerated. He further asked DYPUSM Alumnus Mr. Ashish Thomas to guide his fellow juniors. Mr. Thomas shared his experience as a student and Student General Secretary of the DYPUSM. He encouraged students to actively participate in as many as events, competitions and conferences, as this experience will go a long way.
Dr. Shirish Patil & Dr. Atul Deshmukh then awarded the toppers of BBA Sem 1 (Ms. Asmita Sethiand Ms. Chinmayi Kulkarni) & BBA Sem 2 (Mr. Kennel kumar Savaliya & Ms. Chinmay Kulkarni). This was followed by Ms. Sarika Punekar throwing light on the ATKT & examination rules. Ms. Snehal Dumbre then introduced the students to various BBA Committee Heads, and ended the event on a positive note.
