Workshop on ‘Research Methodology with Data Analysis using SPSS’


This workshop covered every aspect of Research Methodology for writing a research paper as well as for the Ph.D / MPhil students and all those who are interested in making research as their career.

Over 20 Faculties and Research Scholars from several colleges in and around Mumbai participated in this workshop. The scholars participated from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai Pune, Ratnagiri, etc.

The primary goal of this MDP was to bring together research scholars and faculties to learn and understand the various paradigms of research. The participants received in-depth insight, as well as, actionable and practical tools, methods and ideas to conduct research.

This workshop was conducted by senior and experienced resource faculties from eminent colleges like Prof.Dr. R. Gopal, Director DY Patil University’s School of Management (DYPUSM), Ms Jyoti Pawar from DY Patil University’s School of Management (DYPUSM) and Dr. Kamini Khanna from Guru Nanak Institute of Management Studies (GNIMS). This MDP created remarkable success by the participant’s excellent remarks and appeal to invite them for future MDPs/ Events.

Ms. Yogita S faculty of Business Analytics at ITM, Kharghar said that this workshop was very useful to her as it has given her a clear insight into the process of research methodology. The hands-on application of SPSS is very much appreciated.

Dr. Vani Kamath, Dean of Faculty at DYPUSM said this workshop was very useful as the participants got hands-on experience in SPSS which can be used in data analysis of the various research papers. The session on Research Methodology was very methodical and persuasive and gave a detailed process for selecting the topic and the title for the Ph.D program. Such workshops she said are very much needed as they play a significant role in the researcher’s career.

Based on the Research Methodology process and the method for preparing a questionnaire, I have been able to formulate the questionnaire for my Ph.D program said Mr. R.S. P Singh, CEO RSP Investment and Ph.D Scholar from Mumbai University.

Ms. Lalitha Pillai, MPhil from I.I.T. Powai said that “this workshop has been an eye-opener in many ways. I have learned several new concepts in this workshop.

Mr. Vikas Acharya, Ultratech Cements Ltd., Aditya Birla Group said that he would like to be informed about any other similar workshop conducted by DYPUSM. I would like to attend more such informative workshops. Additionally, Mr. Acharya said that research has become an integral part of the cement industry. The huge data available with the industry needs to be processed and analyzed so as to make a meaningful interpretation of the same.
