Every year since its inception, the Gender Sensitization Committee conducts various sensitization activities for the staff and students of the D Y Patil Medical College and hospital. This year as part of its ongoing activities on Women’s Day on 8th March 2017, the committee was part of the felicitation programme ‘ Veerangana’ held by the Allied Medical Sciences during their festival ‘KARVA’.
The programme was attended by Dr. Priya Patil Cholera Trustee, Dr. Surekha Patil, Dean Mrs. Rutali Sawant Registrar and various invitees Mrs. Vrushali Makdum, Mrs. Sajuja Sutar, Miss. Abhilasha Mhatre , Mr. Ashmik Kamthe with all the faculty members and students.
The Gender Sensitization committee participated in the felicitation of the mother Mrs. Ranjana Oulkar of a handicapped student Miss. Shravani Oulkar of the Allied Medical Sciences for her exemplary role in encouraging her handicapped daughter to pursue her higher studies namely, enrolling her in the allied medical sciences course as well as ensuring her daily attendance. She was accompanying her daughter to the institution daily to and fro while waiting for her to complete her classes.] The student herself was also felicitated. The efforts of the mother and her daughter were appreciated by Dr. Priya Patil, Dean as well as all the invitees and the congregation.
The students of the Allied Medical Sciences had also organized a very entertaining programme for the dignitaries which were appreciated by one and all.
