Talk by Dr. Sangramsingh Nishandar, IPS on 2nd November 2017
Government of India celebrated vigilance week between 30th October & 5th November 2017. In view of this Commissioner of police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Thane division Mr. Sangramsingh Nishandar, IPS expressed his desire to interact with the students of D Y Patil University, School of Medicine. Accordingly, an awareness program was arranged for staff and students on 2ndNovember 2017 from 1.30 pm onwards in the D Y Patil University School of Medicine.
Mr. Sangramsingh Nishandar, IPS was welcomed by acting Dean Dr. Prakash Samant & Dr. Rajiv Rao, Professor of Pathology. He addressed the packed hall & explained to them the various facets of corruption & different ways to deal with it. He stressed on the need to be honest & preserve one’s integrity when dealing with public officials. He explained the ways to tackle corruption using various examples. Allaying the fears of the audience, he showed them how this intolerance to corruption will benefit them in the long run. The helpline numbers and email id of the Anti-Corruption Bureau was shared with the students and staff.
This was followed by an interactive session where students asked various questions regarding law, judiciary, corruption as well as conduct of public servants. Mr. Sangramsingh Nishandar, IPS was very honest and forthright with his answers and at the same time made sure that all the questions were answered to the satisfaction of the audience.
The students & staff were very happy with this lecture & gave a feedback at that these points will help them in their future life.
