World Pharmacist Day Celebration
On 25th September 2020, DY Patil University School of Pharmacy celebrated World Pharmacists Day. The purpose of this celebration was to encourage activities that promote and advocate the role of the pharmacist in improving health in every corner of the world. “Transforming global health” was the theme of this year.
The program was jointly organized by DY Patil University School of Pharmacy and DY Patil Hospital, Navi Mumbai. The program was witnessed by Honourable Dr. Vijay D Patil, Chancellor DY Patil University, Dr. Shirish Patil, Vice-Chancellor, DY Patil University, Mr. Vrundan Jadhav, Project Director, DY Patil University, Dr. Rakesh Somani, Principal, DYPUSOP, and all the staff of School of Pharmacy and DY Patil hospital. The program was conducted under strict sanitization and social distancing protocols.
The Program started with the blessings of Gajanan Maharaj along with an invocation song. Dr. Rakesh Somani, Principal of DYPUSOP welcomed all dignitaries and pharmacists. He underlined the role of Pharmacists in health care, especially during COVID 19. A brief note was delivered by Mr. Vrundan Jadhav, on the efforts of the Pharmacists during the COVID period, sighting a few examples and episodes of their tireless contributions, dedication, and commitment. He also emphasized the need for collaborative work with the school of pharmacy. Dr. Shirish Patil also acknowledged World Pharmacists’ day and addressed all pharmacists for their commendable work in this pandemic situation. He also mentioned that this was the first time the Pharmacist day was celebrated with much enthusiasm in the campus. He also acknowledged the proactiveness of the pharmacy department in arranging drugs to avoid shortage during COVID-19. Dr. Vijay D Patil and Mr. Vrundan Jadhav graciously felicitated all our pharmacists and staff like Dr. Samruddhi Pol (Pharmacy Incharge), Mr. Viraj Gharat (Pharmacy Management), and Mr. Jayant Jani (Stores Manager) and thanked them for their contributions. A brief address was given by our Hon. Chancellor where he spoke to all our pharmacists and motivated them to continue to serve the society with dedication.
The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Samruddhi Pol. The program was conducted by the School of Pharmacy with the admin team of the DY Patil Hospital. The program ended with the National Anthem.
