DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Law organized webinar session of Principal, faculty members and students on 21st May 2020 wherein faculty members. Adv. Abhilasha Mane Assistant Professor School of law.Experience as a criminal advocate for last 10 years. Practiced in Mumbai High Court, session court of Mumbai, and Pune and handled several cases like criminal trials, anticipatory bail and many more. Commenced my practice with my grandfather in city civil court, Mumbai.I have 15 years of teaching experience and worked as syllabus committee member and paper setter with Board of studies of Mumbai University for law.spoke at length about DY Patil University, School of Law, Navi Mumbai. It is a premier world class University in the country and has established School of Law  with an objective to prepare diverse body of efficient and professional lawyers for ethical practice of law around the globe and creates law abiding citizens with human values, well trained and socially conscious thinkers  to inculcate an aspiration for improvement of the law and for the community leadership as well as for civic responsibility as a young Advocates.

The campus has an advanced technologically driven campus to meet the latest global teaching and learning techniques, well-crafted virtual classroom for interactive teaching and learning, advanced computer labs, paperless education well equipped with MY DY APP where student on one click gets notes, updates, projects etc and well experienced faculties with more than 10 years practice in High court and Supreme Court of India along with excellent academic experience. The university encourages regular interaction with expertise from law industry like Supreme Court advocates, solicitors, judges, corporate counsels, legal head form government bodies and many more.

She also threw light on few of the teaching techniques followed at School of Law like a curriculum prescribed by Bar council of India and norms of UGC and a strong belief in overall development of child for which we emphasis on interactive session, child involvement , practical experience , personal training aided with technologically advanced study pattern.

At DY Patil University School of Law , three courses are offered, which are LLB, i.e. the three-year Bachelor of Law degree curriculum is divided into six semesters, BA LLB i.e. professional integrated law 5 years course includes both Arts subjects and Law subjects and BCOM LLB i.e. professional integrated law 5 years course with both commerce and law subjects. DY PATIL UNIVERSITY has been accredited byNAAC with “A” Grade and recognized by Bar Council of India (BCI)And UGC.

ADV. ASHISH ANAND

Adv. AshishAnand is an LLB from GJLC (national college) and after completing his LLB, had joined a solicitor’s firm, NityoahSuneel and Associates, during which he came across many civil matters, property matters, family matters, testamentary matters, arbitration matters, intellectual property matters, parsimatters, etc which gave him immense experience in this field. While working there he also completed his LLM from Mumbai University.

In the year 2019 sir also cracked the JFMC exam i.e. Examination for magistrate. Presently he is the asst. Professor in the school of law and teaches civil as well as criminal laws to our students.

He shared some of the glimpses from DY Patil University School of Law, stating that it provides practical training to all its students by arranging various events such as visit to courts, competitions, study tour etc, assurance of 100% placement to every student and an internship to each and every student which helps them understand the applicability of law in the court.

He believes that students are like a raw pot and it’s the teachers who give them a shape. So proper guidance is necessary for every student and that is what school of law provides to every student.

ADV. PIYUSH MAHESHWARI

ADV. PIYUSH MAHESHWARI is an Assistant Professor at DY Patil University School of Law. She did B.A LLB Integrated and LLM from JNU. But she always had this thought of doing teaching in her mind during her post-graduation. She has 5 Years of teaching experience.

Ma’am shared her views about the faculties and teaching methods at DY Patil University School of Law. Faculties are not only the leading authorities in their areas of expertise, but they are also passionate teachers, committed to supporting and inspiring the next generation of legal professionals.

According to her teaching itself is an art which requires a rather different set of skills than other professions. DY Patil University School of Law has an advanced technologically driven campus to meet the latest global teaching and learning techniques. New methods are designed to improve the quality of education along with student’s involvement in the educational process called as LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS). The core curriculum is taught by experienced faculty member with practical experience as senior lawyers of Supreme Court and High Court.

Students also get to participate in International Industrial Visits across the world to enhance their learning experience and gain knowledge. One of the basic motives behind advanced teaching is to motivate students to actively take part in the learning process.

Mrs. Bhakti Naik

Bhakti Naik is an assistant professor at DY Patil University School of Law. She has been associated with the University from last 5 years and at School of Law she teaches commerce subjects. Prior to teaching she had worked in many financial institutions like HDFC bank, IDBI bank and Aditya Birla Financial Service. She has 10 years of industry experience. She has completed her degree in Masters in Finance, from USA.

When we talk about commerce, after India opened it’s economy a lot of companies came into India market and invested, which lead to liberalisation. There is a huge demand for highly skilled lawyers who are specialised in the areas of merger and acquisition, finance, foreign exchange management, intellectual property rights private equity deals, contract related infrastructure. So there is a lot of demand in the market.

She summed up by saying, International as well as Domestic law firms hire a large number of lawyers on every year basis.

Vaishali Sharma

Vaishali Sharma is a student of DY PATIL UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW currently studying in B.COM LLB. She shared her experiences with the University stating that the curriculum is designed in such a manner that it properly inculcates the theoretical and practical knowledge in well-crafted virtual classroom, use educational video related to subjects, interactive learning where we explain judgements and citations. Then there is the LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS) which is very helpful as we can get information in one click like our notes, various assignment, question bank and we are getting technologically trained as well using such advanced methods in regular life. This is what first attracted her first to the University.

She further shared her experience of first time visiting the High Court. Being a law student in first year, every one had this curiosity of seeing an actual court proceeding and on 25th November 2019 all the students visited the sessions court and high court for the first time.

Various events, seminars, visits, expert session are also organised at School of Law, which are very useful. On the Constitution Day a webinar was organised  with guest lectures of Honourable Mr. Quaiser Khalid, Inspector General of Maharashtra and Respected Adv. Aniket Gautam Advocates Supreme court & Solicitors.

At School of Law the students are always presented with numerous opportunities to experiment with and develop a diverse skill set. Added to this are the various competitions in which our college participates which gives us a chance to test our skills.

DY Patil University School of Law encourages us to participate in various events like KLE National Debate Competition, Moot court competition, Elocution etc. School of Law had organised an Industrial Visit to Amritsar and Manali in the month of February. Accompanied by two of our professors Ashish Sir and Piyush Madam.

As soon as we returned from the trip, we had a fest coming up named law tryst organised by Mithibaicollege. They were participating in competitions like moot court, model parliament, client counselling, legal feud and negotiation. They were 2 team of total 8 participants, all first years and thanks to my professor Piyush ma’am we were able to prepare memorials for both the teams within just a week.

LAVANYA PANICKER

Lavanya Panicker is a student of DY PATIL UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW. She is currently studying IN BA-LLB.

She completed her 12th in commerce and since she was a kid, she aspired to be an advocate just like her father. Learning for me is not limited to a four-wall classroom but a dealing with practical life plays a major role. Law is subject which is not limited to books but the real-life applicability. Modern & Advanced Coaching under experienced faculties like Adv. Abhilasha madam, Adv. Ashish sir and Adv. Piyush Madam who are from field of Law with great experience. We have well-crafted Moot Court and we are given Training under the guidance of experienced lawyers.

Our First program on Constitution Day was held on 26th Nov Honorable speaker and guest of the day was respected Mr. Quaiser Khalid, Inspector General of Maharashtra and Respected Adv. Aniket Gautam Advocates Supreme court & Solicitors and guided us regarding importance of the Indian Constitution.And principles expressed in the Indian Constitution and encouraging all Indians to play their rightful role in strengthening the Indian Democracy.

Line up with numerous events like National Debate Competition was at KLE School of law, where we were the only juniors in the whole list of participants. I and 3 of my friends had represented school of law, and we won 3rd rank with beautiful trophies.

Sarah Qadri

Sarah Qadri is a student of LLB course at DY Patil University School of Law. She had completed her graduation from DY Patil University School of Hospitality and Tourism.

There are a number of court visits and industrial visits organised for the students to provide them knowledge not only inside the class room but also outside it. She said that it’s not only the books and bare acts from which students learn but also numerous other sources like video, power point presentations, pod casts and quizzes too which are provided to us via the LMS.

Sohail Bombaywala

Sohail is a first year LLB student at DY Patil University School of Law. He is the Assistant Vice President in an IT Firm. He has an experience of 15 years in working with US based firms.

All the faculties are experienced and expert in the field of law. All the professors are always available, to him whenever he needs their guidance. They are always available 24/7. They always look forward to students in every possible means and no better than him, being a working professional knows it’s importance.
