Workshop on Judgement Writing by Adv. Ashish Anand

DY Patil Deemed to be University, School of Law under the guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr Vijay Patil had organized an informative workshop session on 25th July 2020.

The workshop was conducted on ZOOM platform at 1:00 PM and was presided by Adv. Ashish Anand. The objective of the workshop was to increase the competence of the students in the skill of Judgement Writing. Adv. Ashish explained to everyone what a judgement is. Judgement can be termed as a conclusive statement for a case and differs from person to person. It is merely an opinion of a judge and not a conclusive statement.

He even explained the difference between a decree and an order, components, structure, format, types of a judgement and some tips for an error-free and appealing judgment. To explain things even more clearly, Adv. Ashish Anand had prepared a power presentation also.

After the presentation by Adv. Ashish, Ms. Muskan Narang, organizing committee member took over the session in order to present the details of the National Judgement Writing Competition. With the help of a powerpoint presentation, she spoke about the objectives of the competition, rules and regulations of the competition, format for the judgement submission, submission guidelines, important dates for the competition. To assist the participants, she even showed a sample judgement.

To conclude the workshop, a vote of thanks was proposed by Muskan.
